We’re excited to host a special networking event, Have Your Cake and Eat It Too, right here at The Gardens at Barry Road on Thursday, February 22nd, from 4:30-6:00PM. In addition to enjoying some sweet treats (which everyone deserves in the middle of winter), visitors will have the chance to meet and mingle with our senior care professionals, including our Executive Director Bill Schwingen and our Health Services Director, Brittney Moore, RN.
We hope you’ll join us and find out more about our mission of inspired service—and what we’re doing to make an impact on our residents, their families, and the community we serve. Here’s a little bit about Brittney, and what she enjoys most about our senior living community.
Brittney Moore has walked in the shoes of many families who are considering The Gardens at Barry Road Assisted Living and Memory Care for a loved one. That’s because Brittney, our Health Services Director, cared for her own grandmother here for three years.
She said The Gardens at Barry Road's team cares for all residents like their own loved ones. “Our kind and caring staff and management believe in inspired care." For Brittney, this represents “great care and service that I have witnessed…We have a great group of people to work with and care for our residents.”
Brittney has served as Health Services Director for more than eight years, and has been a nurse for 22. She came to The Gardens at Barry Road because “working in senior care has always been what I love most and working for a faith-based organization was an added bonus.”
Backed by the resources of our parent organization, Bethesda Senior Living Communities, our faith-based approach embraces the idea of kind, individualized service for the social, spiritual and physical health of our residents. With wellness activities, cultural outings, and onsite amenities such as a chapel and library, seniors can do what they love while we take care of the rest.
For anyone researching assisted living communities, Brittney advises, “Look at the residents living there… do they look happy? Ask a few residents to share about their experiences living in this environment.”
To learn more about The Gardens at Barry Road, visit with Brittney at our "Have Your Cake and Eat It Too” event. Brittney’s favorite dessert is Rice Krispies Treats because they remind her of her grandmother. They were so good Brittney would request them over cake for her birthday.
